In the Scanimate Pages:

It is my hope that by creating the Scanimate Pages on the Web I can:

OK, So What is a Scanimate?

The Scanimate is an analog computer system that was built by the Computer Image Corporation of Denver, Colorado in the late sixites and early seventies. In all I know of only a dozen machines that were produced. It was used on many famous jobs over the years, and many of the people that were involved with its development, operation, and care and feeding have gone on to do significant things in a variety of places all over the world. I first became involved with Scanimates in 1979 when I was a maintenance engineer at Image West, in Hollywood, California. I now have the dubious honor of owning a working Scanimate system, and it has set me thinking about all the people that "cut their teeth" on Scanimates.

I hope you enjoy the Scanimate Page! I'm always interested in hearing from anybody that's ever had anything to do with a Scanimate, so please email me with suggestions or comments to be added here. I do this in my "spare" time, which means whole months may go by without this page getting the attention I'd like to, but then that's the biz, eh?
